Dr. Michael F. Nyp is the Director of Neonatology at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith in Arkansas and serves as NICU Medical Director. He is a board-certified neonatologist with extensive experience in clinical care, leadership, and medical education. Dr. Nyp earned his Doctor of Osteopathy and MBA in Healthcare Leadership and completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at the University of Missouri, followed by a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nyp serves as faculty at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is dedicated to advancing neonatal care through evidence-based practice while supporting families throughout the NICU journey.
Dr. Nyp provides on-site care for premature and medically complex newborns at Mercy Hospital Fort Smith. He works closely with hospital teams to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care while supporting clinical education and team development. His approach emphasizes leadership, consistency, and compassionate support for families.
