Onsite’s Dr. Sue Miller Discusses Human Dignity on BSMHealth PAUSE Session

Each morning, team members across the Bon Secours Mercy Health network join together to pause, connect, and reflect. During these short “PAUSE” sessions, guest speakers discuss topics such as human dignity, thankfulness, safety, and humility.

This Monday, Onsite’s very own Dr. Sue Miller joined the live stream to share a bit about her story and the neonatal field. “We have this big responsibility to help these people through really difficult times,” said Dr. Miller while discussing the important, and sometimes misunderstood, role neonatologists play. “I feel really lucky because I get to help support people both at their joyful times and their difficult times.”

Dr. Miller spoke about the dignity of every human life and providing an exceptional patient experience to every family member. “As a pediatrician and a mom I’ve read a lot of Dr. Seuss in my time, ” said Dr. Miller, “and there’s one standout quote from Dr. Seuss that I think says it all: ‘A person’s a person, no matter how small.'”

Dr. Miller serves as the Director of Neonatology at St. Francis Eastside Hospital in Greenville, SC, one of Onsite’s hospital partners. She is also the Executive Director of Team Engagement at Onsite and oversees scheduling and staffing for the national practice.
