Our hospital, our patients and families and our physicians have all benefited from your group over the course of many years. The updated protocols that you have instituted and your introduction and utilization of new technology to the nursery, including the Internet, have helped bring us all forward. Our hospital was at the forefront of routine newborn hearing screening and the use of transcutaneous bilirubin monitoring before such practices became standard.
The policies and procedures have helped to make nursing an equal and entegral part of newborn care. Through consultation and education programs including NALS, our knowledge and skills have stayed current.
You have been active in advocating for the Pediatric Department and Nursery during your tenure as chair and as a member of medical staff committees.
I trust you and your group will bring the same high level of service to any other institution.
