The unique Onsite schedule
Get back in control of your time
If you’re used to a schedule of long weeks and frequent call interruptions, you may be surprised to discover the Onsite difference:
- No on-call schedules
- Collaborative scheduling with colleagues
- Every clinical hour paid
At our Level II and IIIa hospitals, Onsite physicians work just 8 to 10 shifts per month. Each shift is 24 hours, in-house. Generally, whether you work 8, 9 or 10 shifts in a month depends on your own desire to balance work, life, and income. Some shifts fall on Saturday or Sunday, but not both together in the same weekend.
At higher-acuity facilities, some shifts may not be 24 hours. But no matter where you work in our system, the bottom line commitment to quality of life remains the same:
- Sensible weekly hours in hospital
- Collaborative team scheduling with your colleagues
- When you’re off, you’re truly off. Our doctors do not wear their beepers at home. With very rare exceptions, they do not come in for emergency calls on their days off.
As an Onsite physician, you can make plans instead of apologies. You can be confident you can attend the birthday party, the soccer game, or the anniversary dinner.
If you wish, you may pick up extra income by volunteering to cover colleagues’ absences. Onsite also has some part-time and per-diem opportunities. Besides offering a way to supplement income, these can make a great way to discover the Onsite difference first-hand without committing to a full-time engagement.
